Moving Forward
Well Mason is moving forward. As of today his weight was up to 3 pounds 6 ounces, 5 ounces up from his birth weight. This evening he sucked down 27 ccs of his mom's personal recipe, so his feedings have been increasing the last few days as well. We asked the Dr. about what his full feeding would be, and we were provided with a very detailed explanation of a magical number that is determined by burning calories, weight, body temperature, yada yada yada. By the time he was done I still didn't have a clue what his full feeding would be, just that it's different for each baby. Mason had his umbilical line removed yesterday, so that means he gets to put clothes on now. I believe Mason felt the NICU should remain pants optional, but for today he sported some cool new threads. Thank you to everyone who has sent small big guy clothes for Mason to wear while at the hospital. We really appreciate it. Speaking of clothes, we were informed that prior to our evening arrival, Mason had soaked himself, diaper and outfit and in an attempt to escape the terror of feeling wet, managed to crawl himself to the upper corner of his isolet, pressing his face against the side. Poor kid. The nurse said it was quite a sight to see. Too bad we missed it.

Thanks for the pictures. He does appear to just be "chillin" in the top picture. Those ounces are really starting to show. Keep up the great work. Mason is proving to be a real miracle!

Very Cute, Mason is quite a trooper. He is a very lucky guy to have such great parents.
